CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL ELECTIONS — NOVEMBER 5, 2026. Rio Vista’s Measure O has a preliminary Yes lead in the November 4 Solano County report: 2,869 Yes votes against 1,628 No. The valid vote count of 4,497 translates to approximately 63.8% Yes. The result is not certified and any implementation depends on the final canvass.
What the office or ballot question means
The ballot asks whether to extend Rio Vista’s existing 0.75% local transactions-and-use sales tax for another three years, from April 2027 through March 2030. According to the published 2026 Bay Area voter guide, the city estimated annual revenue between $1.398 million and $1.467 million for general municipal services. These are projections, not funds already collected, and sales tax applies only to covered transactions under applicable law.
How to read the reported votes
The Yes and No totals for a tax measure are different from the vote shares in a two-seat City Council election. More eligible mail and provisional ballots can still change the percentages, and a reported initial majority should not be confused with official legal adoption.
Other nearby election coverage
In a separate Rio Vista City Council contest, Rick Dolk, Gloria Thibeaux and Robert Butler were among the leading candidates for two seats. Read California58’s council report. The city council would be responsible for later municipal budgeting decisions within the limits of applicable tax law.
Sources, timing and certification
All candidate and measure totals in this report come from the Solano County local-election results published by KQED, dated November 4, 2026 at 7:40 p.m. Pacific. The county is still required to validate additional eligible mail and provisional ballots and conduct the statutory canvass. The county’s Registrar of Voters is the source for subsequent official updates. County results are due under California law in early December; the Secretary of State’s statewide certification is scheduled for December 11. The newsroom does not declare a certified winner or enacted tax from an election-night total.
