RIO VISTA — November 2, 2026. Rio Vista’s Finance Department provides instructions for opening and closing utility accounts, including separate documentation for owners and tenants and a request for advance notice before stopping service.
New-account paperwork
The city’s Utility Service Q&A says property owners must submit a closing or settlement statement or grant deed, while tenants provide a lease or rental agreement. A separate tenant-owner application may also be required.
Closing an account
Rio Vista advises customers to request a final bill and provide a forwarding address. It asks for at least 48 hours’ notice before stopping service, including when selling a house, so staff can arrange final meter readings.
Bills and responsibilities
The city describes monthly billing and warns that customers remain responsible for charges even if a paper bill is delayed or not received. Contact the Finance Department through the city’s official website to check an account or resolve a disputed charge.
